Welcome to the August 2025 newsletter by MAKE Publishing! Our mission is to educate, inspire, and equip the next generation to win in manufacturing. Blake Prepares for Manufacturing is a collection of six short stories that follow Blake, a curious 11 year old boy, as he learns about manufacturing. Each story is written to be read in about five minutes and teach a skill or develop a character trait. The skills and character traits found in the book are critical to win in manufacturing. Throughout the book Blake is introduced to eight characters who provide him an example to follow, education, or an experience to remember as he prepares for manufacturing. BUILD

Blake Prepares for Manufacturing continues our focus on developing the next generation for manufacturing through activities. The book contains six activities, one for each chapter (short story) in the book. Each activity is designed to teach the skill or character trait associated with the chapter it follows. With a big idea, supply list, instructions, and bonus challenge these activities are sure to engage readers of all ages!

EXPERIENCE

This month MAKE Publishing will join Minnesota Precision Manufacturing Association, and many other manufacturers, for Minnesota Manufactured Day at the Minnesota State Fair. We are honored to participate in this event, and have an exciting activity, book reading(s), and engagement opportunity for the younger crowd interested in manufacturing. Please join us!
