WHAT IS BLAKE PREPARES FOR MANUFACTURING?

Blake Prepares for Manufacturing is a collection of six short stories that follow Blake, a curious boy who discovered the world of manufacturing and is being prepared to enter it. Each story follows the main character, Blake, as he learns important manufacturing skills and character traits. Blake’s preparation takes him on a journey including outbursts at school, backyard tree-forts, trade shows, multiple stops at his Dad’s manufacturing business, and more! The skills and traits Blake learns along the way represent a strong foundation for those who desire to excel in manufacturing.

WHO IS BLAKE PREPARES FOR MANUFACTURING WRITTEN FOR?

Blake Prepares for Manufacturing is written for kids in 4th - 6th grade. Since Blake Explores Manufacturing, Blake, our main character, has grown up by 5 years. Blake is now 11 years old and this story is written to match Blake’s age, provide relatable life experiences, and a window into manufacturing that is designed to fit upper elementary aged kids.

What about kids who are older than 11 and still interested? We believe the skills and traits contained in Blake Prepares for Manufacturing are necessary for kids of all ages to learn for a productive career in manufacturing. Read Blake Prepares for Manufacturing!

WHAT WILL READERS LEARN?

Blake Prepares for Manufacturing is designed to inspire and equip the next generation of makers and problem solvers. Our goal with this book is to teach key manufacturing skills, develop character traits that are useful in manufacturing, and speak the language of manufacturing. Then, reinforce all three through hands-on activities and a glossary of common manufacturing terms. Blake Explores Manufacturing taught our readers what manufacturing is and Blake Prepares for Manufacturing begins to teach how to become a manufacturer.
