Communication: We can all do it

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right”

-Henry Ford

Good Morning,

Welcome to the February, 2026 newsletter by MAKE Publishing! Our mission is to educate, inspire, and equip the next generation to win in manufacturing. This month, we are talking about communication… something we all can do. Included in this newsletter about communication you will find each of our pillars; Read, Build, Experience. We are honored to have your family onboard, let’s dive in!

READ

This month we are excited to begin our summary the character traits described in Blake Prepares For Manufacturing. The three character traits included in the book teach our readers how to act to win in manufacturing. This month, we are pleased to review Chapter Four; Communication.

This chapter provides Blake a unique set of experiences to develop his communication. Blake builds a tree fort, resolves a dispute with his friend, talks to his Dad, and works as a message runner in a manufacturing business. Through Blake’s experiences in this chapter readers will learn all four communication types; verbal, non-verbal, written, and active listening and feel just how critical communication is in manufacturing.

BUILD

Work instructions! This activity comes from Chapter Four; Communication, of Blake Prepares for Manufacturing. This activity enables readers to work with their hands and their minds by designing a building then communicating the work instructions with only words. Think you can do it? Try it out!

Looking for other activities? Check out all of our newsletters and blogs.

EXPERIENCE
